picking up where i left off in part 2...

sunday, january 31, 2010
we woke up around 8 am when the nurse brought leighton back to us for a feeding. they were also moving us to a postpartum room {after the birth, all the postpartum rooms were full so they moved us to a clean labor and delivery room for the rest of the night}. because leighton had been born after midnight, we were going to be able to stay in the hospital until tuesday. we were so thankful for all the help we could get.

the next couple of days were full of lots of visitors, emotions, food, holding a precious baby and a little bit of sleep. we sent leighton to the nursery every night to sleep, which was so wonderful. whoever our night nurse was would bring her back in every three hours during the night and help me nurse her. then we didn't have to worry about if she was sleeping or not, we knew she was in great hands and we were able to get a little bit of rest. it was quite a learning experience.

we have such wonderful friends and family and lots of them stopped by to meet leighton.

of course there were the grandparents
mimi and papa

and tg and grumpa

the mccallons stopped by

the littrells stopped by

the phelps brought us a delicious pizza

and the bakers stopped in to see little leighton
{sorry, we forgot to take a pic}

we felt so very loved.
what an amazing hospital experience we had.
actually, once we spent our first night at home, we were crying to go back to the hospital.

what a joy leighton has been to our life for the past year.
january 31, 2010 will always be at the top of my favorite days list.

Yes, these are very special memories for you and for us. Wish we could have stopped by for a meeting of Miss Leighton, but that had to wait until Spring Break in Texas.
