so tHey saY it'S youR biRtHdAy

a very special happy birthday today to my favorite man.

on this day,
july 6, 2011
he is 29 years old.

in honor of the 5 birthdays i have celebrated with him
here are 5 things you may not know about
clayton vaughan

1. he brews beer.
cool, huh? once, before i met clay, i was thinking about the qualities i looked for in someone i wanted to marry. for some reason i thought he would have a bit of a creative side to him. this is where clay's creativity comes out. he is a great chef and a master brewer {i think}. he likes to be creative with the ingredients and flavors he adds to things. i love that he has a hobby and enjoys this so much.

2. he is always the first to apologize.
i hate fighting and arguing. and i really hate being wrong. clay is so humble and is always the first to apologize {even if i was the one that was wrong}. i love that he shows Christ's love to me in this way.

3. he is really silly.
most people don't get to see his silly side. he makes me laugh. a lot. and he makes leighton laugh even more. she thinks he is absolutely hilarious and i love that he isn't afraid to be silly.

4. he doesn't say anything that he has not completely thought through.
because of this, people respect him, respect his opinion and value what he has to say. this can sometimes make for really long pauses in our conversations, but on the flip side, he never says anything hurtful. i love this about him and i love that others seek his advice and counsel.

5. he can grow a mean beard.
just check out the picture above. that's after about 4 days of not shaving. it's a good thing that i love a scruffy face!

i am so very thankful God put clay in my life. i love him more and more every year.
happy birthday babe!

Great birthday tribute to Clay and so glad you appreciate his many virtues, as I do! I think #4 is the only one for which I can take credit. You guys are so well matched and we feel very lucky to have your family in our lives!

you're the sweetest wife. man, texans are so stubborn...i'm the same way with fights. although, unlike you, i kind of like the fight.

look at momma takin' credit for his good traits. i will surely do the same thing...as all mothers should.

happy birthday clayton marie. you're a good man.
