tHe hoLidaZe: paRt 2

we spent christmas in kansas city this year.
it was so fun to go to our church on christmas eve
and wake up in our house on christmas morning.

we spent christmas eve day at clay's parents.
soup, sandwiches and stockings.
here's leighton and amelia with great grandma fulghum.

christmas eve evening we spent at church worshipping.
it was a great way to celebrate.
after church we put the girls to bed and tried to pick up dinner.
note to self...nothing is open on christmas eve.
plan ahead next year.
then i began getting the food ready for christmas
and clay began putting leighton's present together.
i finished my cooking and clay was still working hard.
it only took four hours to put that thing together!
{leighton, you better LOVE and play with that kitchen for a long time.}

christmas morning was so much fun!
when leighton woke up we read the last day of our advent calendar
and told her it was christmas.
i had high expectations for her reaction to the kitchen
and it was just precious.
she walked into the living room, saw it, smiled really big and said, 'a kitchen!'
she walked right over and started playing.

amelia spent the morning sitting around looking cute.

we were all completely spoiled.
{don't be fooled...this is not excitement. lei and daddy like to pretend to be monsters}

my girls.

after presents, leighton helped me finish up our christmas morning breakfast.
monkey bread, sausage balls and eggs.
{please pay no attention to me in this picture...sick}

we hosted christmas dinner this year for clay's family.
it worked out so well to have everyone {all 4 of them} come to our place.

leighton did some more cooking

we opened more presents and just enjoyed hanging out.
we made chicken curry for dinner with lots of toppings and delicious sides.
everyone loved it!

it was a great day of celebration.

i'm thankful for my family and even more so for my Savior!

Fun times! Christmas in my own home is my new fave:) Never thought I would say that.

Btw...you look fabulous. You're going to have to share your "get skinny after birthing a child" secrets with me.

I'm just reading this Christmas post...love it! Is L in love with her kitchen?? Had I known the hours of entertainment it would bring to our home - I would have bought Amelia one way sooner. LOL It's the best gift ever. Love all of the pics...you guys are precious!
