*talking...miss priss has become quite the talker. she repeats pretty much anything i say which means i constantly hear things like, "it's okay, emma." {she still calls amelia 'emma'} "i right here, emma." "we're almost there, emma." leighton can definitely let us know what she wants. clay and i understand most of what she says, but the times that we can't figure it out can be really frustrating!
some of my favorite things she says..."what you doing, mommy?" "this my favorite." "yook." {for look}
*big girl bed...a couple of weeks ago we moved leighton into a new room with a big girl bed. we had really been fretting over how it was going to go. she is such a busy body and quite feisty, so we were sure she was going to get up all the time. boy were we wrong! she was absolutely perfect. in fact she has slept later than normal most mornings. she looks so stinkin' adorable in her bed and is so proud of her sun/moon night light.

*discipline...wow, 18-24 months was a little rough, so here's to hoping we hit the terrible two's early and now miss 'no' will turn into miss 'yes'!
*'it's mine!'...this is leighton's favorite phrase when her friends are over to play. yikes! when we are at other houses or other places she is pretty good, but at our house she really makes it known that it is her house and her things.
{i would like to note that this was one of the things i totally judged other moms for before leighton hit this stage...'my child will love to share her things.' 'i'll teach her that everything we have belongs to the Lord and she will probably end up giving all her things away.' okay. lesson learned.}

leighton's favorites
*to eat...pizza, any fruit, tomatoes, chick fil a, ice cream, cookies, suckers {isn't she healthy?}
*to do...play with her kitchen, play outside, watch tv shows and movies, help mommy cook, play in water

personality
leighton is always a little hesitant in new situations or around new people. but once she feels comfortable she is a silly, crazy little girl. she likes to tell people in the grocery store hello.
she loves to help do almost anything...in fact at any time during the day if you walked into our kitchen, you would find at least one chair pulled up to the counter. if i am cooking, washing dishes, emptying the dishwasher, making her breakfast...whatever...she pulls a chair up to help.
she has become highly indecisive. if we give her a choice she will change her mind 10 times in 5 seconds and then throw a fit when we pick one to give her. it's getting a little ridiculous.
leighton loves her baby sister! i mean, loves her. "where emma?" are usually the first words out of her mouth when we get her out of bed. she talks to her, tries to make her laugh and helps me take care of her all day long. and the feeling is mutual...amelia smiles and laughs at leighton just by looking at her. it seriously makes my heart melt.

here's our big two year old!

and because i can't resist...
i was trying to get her to smile so i showed her a big smile
and apparently this is her interpretation what i look like.

She is so stinkin' cute. Your statement about sharing things made me laugh. I feel ya. I tell Amelia constantly, "your friends are coming over, are you going to share your toys?" "Will you share with Sydney when she comes?" Of course her answer is always yes, but when the friends come over - we're breaking up fights, telling them to share. (LOL) 2 is definitely harder for us than 1 - the will is much stronger. Here's hoping 3 is easier!! :)
