aBiLeNe, tHe pRetTieST toWn i'Ve eVeR sEeN

okay, so maybe it's not the prettiest town ever, but we like it.
this past week leighton and i boarded an airplane and headed to texas for her first visit.
we got to see lots of family and lots of friends and do lots of hanging around!
for your viewing pleasure, here is our week in pictures.

the first half of the week, my bestie annalee was in town for our first annual spRiNg fLiNg.
we did lots of hanging out, ate lots of taco bueno and cajun cones and held lots of cute babies.

moNdaY
leighton and i arrived in abilene monday evening, but leighton was just dying to meet graham and couldn't wait another day.
we headed over to hang out and get a late night cajun cone.

tUesDaY
we started our day by meeting our new friend lauren for a delicious lunch at hickory street cafe, an abilene staple.

of course we had to sneak in a cajun cone.
(please excuse my pasty legs...the sun hasn't really hit kansas city yet.)

weDneSdAy
we had a playdate with hannah, mason & sawyer.
the big kids were obsessed with the babies.

we switched babies for awhile.
my arm was tired after about 10 minutes of holding the chunk.

tHuRsdAy
graham and leighton fell in love.

annalee & i planned their wedding.

adelaide baby-sat while we planned the wedding.

leighton had her first taco bueno.

sadly, that's when the spring fling ended and annalee & the kids had to head back to houston.
sigh.

lucky for us, my friend natalie came in town with her kids to meet leighton.
don't be fooled by her face, she had a great time playing with addie & doak.

nat & i and our babies (wee number 3 is in her belly!)

fRiDaY
leighton took a bath in mimi & papa's sink.

don't worry.
we did more than take a bath.
gigi & big papa took us all out to a delicious dinner at the beehive!

sAtuRdAy
leighton finally got to meet her uncle bryan.
she was just ecstatic.

mimi & papa made us go to a wedding with them.
we got to see lots of family there...i'm pretty sure mimi just wanted to show off her cute granddaughter.

leighton was pretty tired.
good thing her papa makes a good pillow.

suNdAy

my favorite austin girls met us in goldthwaite (1/2 way between austin & abilene) for some dairy queen fun.ome delicious dairy queen fun.

mOndAy

we sat in the abilene airport for 5 hours before they cancelled our flight.
then we spent one more unexpected night in a-town.
mimi & papa weren't too sad about it.
clay was.

tuEsDaY

we finally made it home.

it was a great week and i'm thankful i finally got to introduce leighton to the best state in the world.

i mean, seriously 4 months is too long.
