okay, don't do the math...

i'm over a month late with this post.

oops.

so, just pretend the date on this post says jan. 31.

miss leighton gale is 12 months old.

one year.

what a big girl.

our house is a bundle of energy, noise and movement these days.

here's a little of what's going on with our

12 month old.

sTatS

weight...20 pounds 1.8 ounces...40th percentile

height...30 1/4 inches...80th percentile

head...18 inches...70th percentile

sKiLLs

*walking...she's a walking machine these days. she started walking more than crawling right before her birthday. she's moving all over the place and can stand up on her own.

*sign language...she uses more and please accurately and when asked she can do eat, ball, water and milk.

*talking...well she's not the most verbal child ever. she only says a few words.  mama, dada, hi and up.

* retrieving things...she's pretty good at bringing something to you when asked. although, i think we've entered the 'no' stage. she's been shaking her head 'no' to everything lately!

sTruggLes

*eating...it changes weekly, sometimes she eats anything, sometimes she eats nothing but grapes.

*no...she has begun shaking her head no. it's ridiculous. 'leighton, give mommy her phone.' head shaking.

*this isn't really a struggle...just part of her personality...she is a bit shy and really reserved in new situations or around new people. it takes her quite a while to warm up. clay and i feel like most people don't get to see her real personality, which is sad to us because it is so cute and funny.

we love our little one year old. she is so precious and makes our days so much fun.
