SiN

i accepted jesus at an early age and grew up in a christian home.
because of those things, i haven't really ever known what it was like to live without jesus.
but i know what sin is.
so often, i feel completely overwhelmed with the sin in this world
and even more so
the sin in my own life.
i feel surrounded by sin lately.
my thoughts.
my emotions.
my actions.
but my sin makes me so much more aware of God's mercy.
these words, from one of my favorite worship songs,
have been speaking to me.

"without thy sweet mercy i could not live here
sin would reduce me to utter despair.
but through thy free goodness, my spirit's revived
and he that first made me still keeps me alive."

thank you Jesus for your mercy.
your daily mercy.
